Why Work With a Life Coach?

In 2018 my life was not what I had envisioned, and I wasn’t very happy. I was a single mom struggling with money despite having a well paying job. I had been in and out of a relationship with a man I loved very much, but things just weren’t stable for us. My two preteen daughters and I were having issues related to many things and we weren’t as connected as I wanted to be. In fact, everywhere I looked, I felt like because of the stress I was under, I had a hard time truly connecting with anybody. It was all just so overwhelming. Some days I’d wake up, ready to take on the world. Yet, by the end of the day I was exhausted and simply wanted to escape into a good book, movie, or anything else, to take my mind off of my life and how it wasn’t anything like I wanted it to be.

At this point I had been in counseling for many many years. In fact, I’ve spent most of my life in counseling and it’s been very useful to me. However, the problems I was experiencing just didn’t seem to be shifting despite my weekly counseling sessions. By chance one day, I came across a relationship coach on FB and her ideas were completely different than anything I had heard about relationships in the past. I read all of her blog posts, listened to as many of her podcasts as possible. After a month or so I finally committed to joining her program. I tried out her advice (even when it was terribly uncomfortable to me) and immediately saw changes in my relationships with others. Over the next few weeks of following her program, I started to change into a more confident woman. This confidence started to spill over into other areas of my life. It changed how I related not just to men, but to friends and family as well.

In 2019 I was at a work conference where I was introduced to the work of a life coach. I had never heard the term life coach before and so was very interested in what this was. Daily I had thought about what I learned from working with the relationship coach and how grateful I was to what I learned and still applied to my life, so I was interested in seeing what I could do with a life coach. Again, I looked her up, started following her podcasts and blog, and was so interested in her ideas about thought work and feminism. I joined her online community and continued to learn about myself and have continued to work with her over time.

Doing the work with both coaches at different times showed me how coaching truly works. A coach works with you to help you discover what you truly want from your life. And because thoughts become things…we then help you focus on what you want your life to look like and the quickest and most meaningful way to get you there. Simply thinking about what you want, won’t get you there. Although it’s a great start. You also need a plan, ongoing support, and to know and embrace your strengths to create the life you’re excited about and truly love!!!

I’m so excited about the life I’ve created working with coaches that I decided to also become a life coach. I know that my life experiences, education, and love for helping others will also help them achieve their dreams in a short amount of time.

So back to my story. Within four months of working with a relationship coach my boyfriend proposed to me and this past summer we were married. We have the most fulfilling and loving relationship I’ve ever known. My two daughters are now teens and we have become closer than ever before. I have the energy to devote to them each day and am present with them in ways I never imagined. I wake up every day excited to start the day because I have a plan for what I want to get done. In fact, I often end up getting way more done because of my fail proof and very doable organization plan. I have so much energy and choose to spend my free time (which I have a lot more of) doing things that bring me joy, rather than trying to escape my life. It’s a truly different place to live from. And I owe it all to the coaches I’ve worked with.

If you are interested in finding out if working with me is right for you, please contact me. We can set up a free consultation and during the month of January all of my coaching sessions are free! What a great time to try out a new way of doing life, with my support, and no financial obligation! Let’s make 2021 our best year yet!!!
